May - Twinkle Twinkle Blanket by Curious Handmade (knit)
Twinkle Twinkle is a charmingly simple baby blanket or shawl. It is constructed of four triangles knit “in the round” from the centre out to form a square blanket with a starry centre and an understated lace border. It was designed to be plain enough to be unisex but special enough to celebrate any new arrival. It can be knit in either fingering or DK weight yarn.
Please purchase pattern from Ravelry prior to the workshop.
June - Rubik Mosaic Blanket by Tinna (crochet)
Rubik is a fun little mosaic crochet pattern with lots of room for creativity and puzzle play. Hence the name Rubik, you play with it by turning the tiles, just like with the Rubik’s cube we all know.
Please purchase pattern from Ravelry prior to the workshop.
July - Celtic Traveller Throw by Melissa Burke (knit)
The Celtic Traveller blanket pairs two gorgeous cable patterns, nestling them together to create a stunning design. When designing Melissa's first thought is "I don’t want to design things that are out of reach (skill-wise) for some knitters, especially those newer to knitting." So, whilst this blanket will definitely stretch some skill sets and we believe it is most suited to an intermediate knitter, it can also be a great learning process for those with less experience.
Please purchase pattern from Ravelry prior to Workshop.
August - Peace Square by Crochet Road
This peaceful Granny Square is designed to be relaxing to create, using basic stitches including single crochet, half double and double crochet. There are some post stitches which may stretch you a little, however once you get the hang of them, and find your rhythm, they’re so enjoyable to make. The pattern repeats itself visually, giving the appearance of the ripples created in peaceful waters when you drop a pebble in.
Please purchase pattern from Ravelry prior to the workshop.
September - Olas del Mar Blanket (knit)
The mellifluous name ’Olas del Mar’ is Spanish for ‘waves of the sea’. In this rectangular shaped lap/baby/mini blanket, waves cascade over the surface in a continuous, undulating texture that can be minimally blocked for a three-dimensional effect or more strenuously stretched for a lacier fabric.
The ‘Olas del Mar’ blanket has built-in edges and is worked flat from side to side. The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts as well as a schematic and an easy-to-read chart for the lace repeats.
Please purchase pattern from Ravelry prior to the workshop.
October - TBC (Crochet)
November - TBC (Knit)
Further details regarding suitable yarns for each blanket will follow soon.
