Crochet Along Kicks Off 13 February🎉

Crochet Brisbane Yarn australia wool samford

learn to crochet

Welcome!
We are very pleased you will be joining us to share the experience of creating Sandra Paul’s (cherryheart.co.uk) Nature’s Walk Crochet Along.

We will meander through this gorgeous 12 block design blanket over the next few months, finishing during June, just in time to cosy up under it as the chill of winter sets in.

You can see in the schedule below, we plan to kick off the CAL on Sunday 13th February. If you are local to the Greater Brisbane area, you are invited to a relaxed social afternoon - at That Yarn Place, Samford - on the 2 nd and 4 th Sunday of each month, 1pm – 3pm. We will chat, share, guide, enjoy and crochet! Those of you joining in from afar, please stay in touch
via Facebook and Instagram – post and share as you CAL!

CAL Schedule
We will introduce each stage of the CAL as detailed in the schedule below. This is not a strict timetable – you may choose to crochet at whatever pace works for you, however, if you are fast and have moved ahead, please only “share” your progress in accordance with the schedule.

What’s Next?
You have selected and purchased your yarn, next…

  • Add CAL Schedule dates to your diary!
  • Download the patterns from Ravelry. We have chosen to create the 12 block design blanket which requires you to download 2 patterns – the 6 Standard Designs (free on Ravelry) and the 6 Bonus Designs (approx $6 on Ravelry). Patterns are available in both US and UK terms.
  • Print out the patterns – they are too lengthy to work with from a phone or ipad. If you don’t have a colour printer, black & white prints well.
  • Prior to 13 th February, familiarise yourself with the pattern.
Read through Sandra’s notes and tips
Review stitches – Sandra has created some fantastic photo tutorials.
Have your favourite hook ready – Sandra suggests 3.5mm, however 4mm works too.

In total, there are 48 blocks to complete – 4 each of 12 designs.
The blanket configuration is 6 blocks wide x 8 blocks long.
Finished size approx. 120cm x 150cm.

  • Complete the table below to match your yarn colours to the block designs. Refer to your Yarn Pack Colour Chart.
