Unleash your creative self with Freeform Crochet - taught by talented and award winning local artist, Judy Pacholke.
Freeform crochet, as the name suggests, involves the application of crocheting principles to create without the use of a pattern. This four-session course will guide you through a range of skills and activities that will support you in your freeform crochet journey.
Some words from Judy...... "All images here, are of work I have created using the skills I will be introducing you to. The most important thing you need to bring is a willingness to be brave and a preparedness to learn from where the journey takes you."
Session 1: Heading off track - This initial session will involve activities where you will learn to work without a pattern. You will be focusing on creating shapes and lines in a variety of ways, being prepared to learn through play.
Session 2: Creating a montage - You will be encouraged to use a range of shapes, colours and stitches to produce a montage of motifs. The range of stitches being used will be increased. You will also be encouraged to add dimension.
Session 3: Painting a picture - This session will involve the art of crocheting to a template or picture. You will learn the skills required to crochet a representation of an image of your choice.
Session 4: Building structure - This session will involve the art of crocheting onto crocheting. Starting with a mesh background, you will be crocheting onto the mesh to create a variety of lines, patterns and images.
Please Note: The workshop cost is for 8hrs of Tuition, no yarn or tools are supplied.
Level of Skill: To enjoy success with this workshop, participants must have an intermediate level of crochet experience and skill.
You will need to bring:

A selection of yarn from your stash. A variety of colours, fibre, weight and texture is ideal.

A variety of crochet hook sizes to match the weights of your yarns.

Scissors, darning needle

- Full payment is required to confirm your spot.
- If your class is postponed or cancelled you will be given a full refund or shop credit - the choice is yours.
- Things happen and sometimes you cannot make a class. If you give us 7 days notice you will receive a full refund. Less than 7 days a full refund can only be given if your spot in the class can be filled. But we are happy to transfer you to another class. If you are doing a multi-day class we are unable to give a refund or credit for change of mind or cancellation once the class has started.
