Sock Academy - Toe Up Socks 2 week course

Learn the basics of toe-up sock knitting  - casting on, toe increases, creating foot gusset with heel increases, an easy short-row heel, and a stretchy bind-off – while knitting an ankle length sock.  Since, with socks, two is company you will practice your new-found skills on a second sock. 

The size of the sock is Ladies 7-8 but you will be able to make minor adjustments to fit your foot as you knit the sock.

What is included:

2 x 2 hour classes

1 skein/ball of yarn - enough to make a pair of socks

You will need to bring with you:

Pattern – Basic Knee-High Toe Up Sock - by Leslie (Single Stitch), it is free. Click on the link below for the pattern.

• Needles – the socks can be knitted with double knitting pins, two circular needles, or magic loop – whichever technique you prefer.
• Size  2.75  double knitting pins

or  Two 60 cm circular needles size 2.75

or One 100cm circular needle size 2.75 - for magic loop.

Please note – if using dpns to knit the socks you will need a circular needle for the cast-on

• A small stitch marker, scissors etc
• Pen and notebook.
