As the temperature cools and our attention turns inwards towards steaming cups of tea and armfuls of yarn, it might seem that we burn less brightly to the outside. But it’s just at this time, as our warm weather blaze appears to fade, a tiny creative gem within spurs to life and starts to really glow.

Embers is a stunning colourwork DK cardigan (using just two colours per round) for days when our sparks of creativity smoulder brightly. She’s knitted from the top-down and in the round, then steeked up the centre front to form a cardigan.

NEEDLES
US 5/3.75 mm & US 6/4 mm circular needles 32”/80 cm long and also for knitting small circumferences.

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS
3 stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holder, wool needle, sewing needle, crochet hook & spare yarn for reinforcing steek.

10-12 buttons approx 0.6”/1.75 cm diameter & 10- 12 removable markers.

GAUGE
22 sts and 30 rnds/rows = 4”/10 cm with US 6/4 mm needles in stockinette stitch worked in the round, after blocking.
